10 months old!

Gav has started saying mama!!!  I couldn't be happier.  I love that kid so much and it is the best feeling to know he loves you back.  He really is a very talkative little one but every time I try to get him to talk to someone on the phone or on Skype he won't say a peep.

I know I always say this but, this kid is getting into everything!! No joke.  Gavin has started to really get into cabinets and he is exploring every nook and cranny we have in this little place.  I have been so exhausted watching him and making sure he doesn't get into anything he's not suppose to.  He crawls so fast now I can't seem to get away, I feel like I've got a third leg at times.  He loves to play in Mom and Dad's room or even his own.  We got it pretty well known now what needs to be moved everyday so its out of his reach.  Blinds, cords, the laptop, things he can climb up on and make sure the bathroom doors are closed!  It can be so tiring and so exhausting if you forget something.  When he sees something he shouldn't have he bolts for it, then when you take him away from it, its like a wrestling match to get him distracted and wanting something else.  He has become quite the walker.  The little walker Jake bought for him is by far his favorite right now.  I always have it up against the wall to keep it out of the way and he wiggles his way back behind it and takes off.  When he gets going he looks right at you with the biggest grin.  Poor kid hasn't figured out that you have to stop when you run into something.  He's had a few casualties when he's been stuck against something and keeps pushing which causes him to fall right over it.  But he keeps getting up and he'll walk forever.  Gav has also learned how to stand up with out the couch.  He's getting so good at standing that I'm getting really nervous that he's going to start walking any day now.  He has had a step or two where he'll be walking along the couch and let go while taking a step but grabs back onto the couch before he falls.  He's so close!!

He loves when we read books to him and now when we read to him he stands up to look at the pictures.  I love when I take a peek at him and he's sitting on the floor with books surrounding him and he's flipping through the pages.  He's pretty good about entertaining himself with his mountain of toys.   Its fun to watch him play around with all his toys, going from toy to toy banging them together, playing music just being a happy kid.  He's getting to be quite the eater as well.  Every time I'm skyping with my mom she's saying you need to feed him he's hungry!  Buy my goodness.  That kid can eat.  I feel like I feed him all day every day but he still wants more!  He's not real picky either.  He's willing to eat anything.  Especially if his Mom or Dad is eating it.

We didn't get out of the house much this month.  It was okay with me, it is HOT!  It's fun to spend time with Gav, to see him grow.  Love that kid.

9 months old!!

Busy, Busy, Busy!!!  This month has been crazy!
Gavo is into EVERYTHING!  This kid has really started crawling like crazy and he can get into just about anything.  He's just figured out how to open cabinets.  Its the cutest to see him open a cabinet and peak around the corner to see what's inside.  I was doing the dishes the other day and gav had opened the cabinet next to me full of bowls.  Bowls came crashing down as he pulled them out and he was banging on them bein so noisy! After a couple min he was being quiet and I looked down to see what he was getting into and he was gone!!  He had climbed into the cabinet trying to get to the bowls in the back.   It was funny to see him hanging out in there.

You know those walkers for babies?  The ones with buttons and music on the front and a handle to hold onto to walk with.  Do you know how hard those are to find!?  We were looking for one for about a month.  I don't know why it was so hard finding one.  My sweet hubby came home for lunch one day with one to surprise Gavo, and boy has he loved it!  Gav can play with that thing forever!!  It was pretty funny when he first got it.  He would hold onto the handle like he was going to walk but then decided he wanted to play with the front of it.  He would reach over the handle and grab at it but not be able to reach it. He got so frustrated with that thing.  It kind of helped him figure out how to walk with it though since grabbing at the front would push it and force him to walk.  He is also very good at standing and walking along the edge of the couch.  We have cought him a couple times standing on his own but only for a second then he grabs onto something to steady himself.  Its fun to see how much he is growing.  Its just going way to fast!

Gavin has a new favorite toy in the house, and I mean favorite!  Sadly, its the toilet.  Its so gross and I got so sick of wrestling with him to stay away from it that we now keep both bathroom doors closed at all times.  Of course there are times we forget and when he sees that door open he crawls in so fast and goes straight to the toilet.  The worst part is he is fascinated with the water in the toilet.  I have cought him a time or two standing against the toilet with his hand reaching for the water.  Gross!!  I'm not very good at teaching him that's bad though cause I put him in the tub and he loves the tub!  One of my favorite thing to watch Gavin do is during bath time.  After we have dinner gav is pretty yucky so the easiest is to put him in the bath and wash him off.  Jake will go ahead to the bathroom and turn the water on and Gavin freaks out!  Once he hears that water running its hard to control the kid!  He has a type of speed crawl and he can be pretty dang fast.  He goes straight to the bathroom and climbs up on the tub and squeals with a giant grin on his cute face.  It is so fun to see how excited  and how happy this kid can be.  Once he's in the tub he just talks and talks and talks.  It is so cute!  I love tubby time.

Grammy Grampy and Kaitle came to visit!!! My Uncle Lynn is in the Air Force and was being promoted to ??????.  Luckily he lives in San Antonio, only about a 2 hour drive from our house.  We had the opportunity to go to the ceremony to support him, and my parents were there as well.  The ceremony was really cool to see.  I'll be honest I didn't think it would be that great and I almost didn't go.  We decided to go because I knew a lot of family would be there that we don't get to see very often and we don't get many opportunities to.  It was fun to see everyone and to have a quick catch up.  After the ceremony we went and had lunch with everyone then headed back to Austin with my parents.  Of course on the way we had to stop at buckee's...  If you live in Texas and you don't know what buckee's is you are missing out.  Its basically the walmart of gas stations.  Seriously. You have to see it to believe it.  We then went to pick Kaitlyn up from the airport in Austin and headed home.  We didn't do a whole lot, Gav is kind of hard to get out of the house with and go do something.  Plus it's so stinkin hot outside!  It was a lot of fun to have them here and have Gavin spend some time with them.  Every time we are with family and its time to go I lose it.  Like full blown bawling!  Sad, I know.  Well, I knew my parents were expecting it and I held it together.  That is till the door closed, ha ha.  My mom even made a comment later about how well I did, I just laughed.  I'm a baby what can I say.

We also had the opportunity to help out some friends move.  Gavos babysitter is one of the nicest ladies I have ever met!!  When we found out they were moving I was so sad, but came to find out it was only a street over.  Phew!  Gav and I went over almost everyday the beginning of August.  We tried to help pack and get things ready to go but boy is it hard with a little guy around.  We still got a lot done.  Then that first Saturday Jake came over with us and we officially moved them to their new house.  It was really fun to get to know them better and to help them out.  They are always lifesavers when we need a babysitter so it was nice to help them out for a change.

Gavin also had his 9 month appointment this month and this kid is growing!  He is 29 inches long and 21 lb 3 oz.  Love this kid so much and it is great to see he is growing to be such a big boy!!  Can't believe how fast it's going but loving every second!

also starting to stand on his own a couple seconds at a time.  It is so awesome!!  I love it!!
walking really well while holding on

8 months old!

We've got a crawler on our hands!!  Can not believe how fast this kid is growing up.  This past month Gav has learned how to get around the house by scooting, army crawl type thing, sit up by himself and crawl! And to top it off he's got 2 teeth comin in!!!  Its been a big month for Gavo.

So... we haven't done much here in Austin.  Gav has had a big month, but other then that we've been going through the motions.  It is crazy to see Gav one day scooting around slowly and then the next day realize he's right behind you all day. I was in the bathroom getting ready one day and Gav was in the living room playing with toys. After a while he started getting fussy, wondering where mom went.  I started to call out his name every time I would hear him squeal or fuss and in a couple min he was at the doorway to the bathroom.  Since that day its been hard to keep him out of there.  That has become his favorite room! Gross!!  He loves to play with the scale for some reason.  He also likes to help mom and dad in the Kitchen.  When we're in there making dinner, or doing dishes, whatever it is he wants to be there!  He loves exploring the kitchen.  Opening the fridge door can be dangerous when he's in there because he shoots straight for it!  It becomes an instant wrestling match. The first time I noticed him sitting up by himself it took me by surprise!  I didn't realize he could do it himself and I kept thinking did I set him down sitting, or did he do that himself?  It took me a couple times noticing him doing it before I could really believe it.  Gav's starting to stand up on his own too!!  Learning so much so fast!  He has to hold onto something still but he's not using Jake and I to stand up anymore.  He climbs up on anything he can get his hands on.  The cutest thing was when I went in to get him from a nap the other day and he's just standing there in his crib with a giant grin on his face.  He was so proud of himself!

The 4th of July was pretty fun!  We went to the Wells Branch parade and it was nice.  Not my favorite but it was fun to take Gav out to a parade and watch the floats with him!  We ran into some people in our ward that invited us to sit with them.  I thought that was really nice of them.  We were invited by our friend Maria to a BBQ!  She lives right by the park that had the fireworks that night so we were having a big party.  They had people from all around their neighborhood and lots of great food!  It was a lot of fun.  They had bought a ton of fireworks too!  It was fun  to see Gavs face light up every time he saw a firework.  He didn't like the loud booms so much though...  He got scared and cried a couple times but he's a big boy.  Gav got to tire to stay up to go to the park so we ended up going home before the fireworks.  The awesome thing was that our apartment isn't that far from the park and from our window we could see the fireworks perfectly!  When we got home we put Gav down for bed and when the fireworks started up we got him up and watched the fireworks from our bed.  It was awesome!!

Well, I know that's not much but that's our month! Till next time...

7 months old!

Crazy kid is starting to get into everything!  I know its only going to get crazier and crazier so I'm going to have to start getting use to it.  Gav is rolling like crazy and scooting everywhere!  Still only going backwards but he figures out how to get things still.  I don't get it.  He actually got up on all 4's the other day and when I saw him I grabbed my camera to take a pic and when I went to take the picture he thought it was funny and fell on his tummy and gave me a giant grin and started giggling. I was so bummed I didn't get the picture, but he's still cute!

I tried weighing Gav again but I am not trusting my scale anymore so I'll have to wait till we take him to the doctor.  His favorite toys are the chains, his little Einsteins music player, cups and spoons.  He loves to snuggle with blankies and we love to snuggle with him.  He's a pretty good sleeper now.  He was waking up around 230 every night then again at 430.  One night he woke up around 230 and he was just kinda moaning.  He did that for probably 10 min then fell back asleep.  Since then he's only been waking up around 430 maybe 530 and the last couple days not till 7ish.  He goes to bed around 9 so its not bad at all.

This past month Jake and I celebrated our 3 year anniversary. We have gone on a little weekend trip every anniversary so this year we were able to go to San Antonio.  Before we moved from Dallas I was always asking Jake to go to the Zoo with me but he never would.  So he surprised me and took Gav and I to the zoo in San Antonio.  It was so hot but it was fun.  I was really worried about taking Gav out in the heat for so long so we stocked up on a couple things.  We got his a sippy cup so we could have some water for him and got a cute hat for him and caked him with sunscreen.  We took one of those fans with a squirt bottle attached too.  He wasn't a fan of getting squirted in the face but he sure liked the fan.  He hadn't ever used a sippy cup before so I was a little worried he wouldn't use it but I think he was hot enough he dank quite a bit of it.  I think the zoo was more for me though cause Gav didn't show interest at all, but it was fun to go as a family.  Luckily our hotel was downtown and we were only a block away from the Alamo.  It was really cool cause Jake and I had watched the movie only the week before and we were able to go see where it all took place.  There is also a place downtown called the river walk.  The river walk is so awesome!  There is a river that runs right through the city and so they build all around it and it is so beautiful.  We went and walked around a bit and ate at Hard Rock cafĂ©.  We got to sit on a balcony and look over the river, it was really fun!  That night they had a parade to honor the troops on the river!  We got to stand on a bridge and see all the boat floats go through.  There were a lot of people and it was still really hot but it was a really cool thing to see. We got to go back the next day and take a river tour of the river walk and it was really neat.  So beautiful.  If your ever in San Antonio, go to the river walk!

Gav at the Zoo at the Alamo and at the river walk

So this past months we've been introducing Gavin to new foods.  For the first little while we would feed him rice cereal, but he only ate that for a couple days then he didn't want to have anything to do with it.  It got frustrating cause he would act hungry but he wouldn't eat anything.  We were giving him some puree foods and he would eat them then other times would refuse.  We stopped trying anything for a couple days to give it a rest and then we made the mistake of giving him the yummy stuff.  We went for ice cream one night and gave him a bite and his eyes got wide and he wanted more.  So we tried the puree again and he must have thought it was the ice cream again cause his mouth was wide open.  When he took a bite he made a bad face and wouldn't take another bite.  So we started feeding him some pieces of bread rice avocado and he loves banana!  I tried the banana puree and he wouldn't eat it so I cut up some banana and he loved it!!  We're still workin on the puree but he is quite the eater.

           such a messy boy!

Gav is quite the swimmer, which makes Jake really happy.  I'm not a fan but I will still go.  We go swimming probably 3 or 4 times a week and Gav loves to watch everyone splashing and playing around.  We bought him a floaty and he gets so relaxed in it.  He just lays back and floats around with a toy stuck in his mouth to chew on. The other day we were swimming and two boys came over and started talking to us and asking his name and stuff.  They had squirting toys and kept squirting Gavin making him cry then asking if he liked it or not.  Poor kid is already getting picked on and he's only a baby.  It was really starting to bug me and we kept saying he didn't like it.  After a couple times Jake finally told them to just leave him alone and they left. Dumb kids

We even tried swimming in the tub...

This past month Jake has had a couple busy days and wasn't able to find anyone to help him out so of course I became the helper.  I didn't mind, we just had to find a babysitter and having just moved know no one at all.  I found someone in our ward that was more then willing to help us out and I went to help Jake.  I have a whole new respect for Jake and what he does.  At first I was only suppose to go and help pack.  Not bad right?  It was a little frustrating since the people we were packing up didn't have a clue what we were suppose to pack or do with anything.  Turns out I went the next day with Jake to move them out.  I haven't hurt so bad in so long.  We still didn't finish packing so we go there the next day around 11 packed and got everything all ready and taken apart (we couldn't take anything out of the building till 5) then once 5 hit we were taking stuff out of there as fast as we could.  I didn't get home till 8 and boy was I exhausted.  I also hadn't sad down the whole day and after driving home walked all funny once I got out of the car.  I felt like I couldn't move without hurting my whole body.  I don't know how Jake does it but I sure do love him for doing it.  Gav and I went with him again that Saturday to clean up a job they had just done.  He said quick vacuuming and we'll be done.  So of coarse I was thinking an hour at most.  Nope we were there for about 4 hours and this place was disgusting!  Rat dropping, giant dead spiders.  Dead doesn't matter people, its still a spider!!  I've had nightmares of these spiders ever since! And there was crap all over the floor so we had to clean that up before we could even vacuum.  Needless to say, moving is hard. Especially when its not your own move.

Probably the best part about helping Jacob with the move is we got to explore Austin a bit more and it is beautiful!!  The area that this company we moved was in an amazing location.  We hadn't seen anything even close to this anywhere in Texas.  There are mountains!  Crazy to call them that but they are definitely the closest "mountains" around.  And they are so pretty.  It's in an area close to a lake and the Colorado river runs through it.  The mountains are just covered in trees and its just green everywhere.  Let me tell you.  Dallas was nothing like this.  So beautiful.  We're excited to go play in the creeks and the river this summer.  Till next time!

Gav at 7 months, such a happy boy!

6 months!

Crazy kid is growing up to fast!  We've had lots of adventures with this cute little boy lately.  This past month Gav and I had the opportunity to go to Utah!!  My parents were going out of town and my little sis needed a friend...babysitter :) We were in Utah from the 8th to the 27th.  Longest trip of my life!!  It was good though.  My parents were there the first and last couple days we were there so we were able to spend some time with them.  We also got to spend some time with friends and family. All I can say is being a single parent is HARD!  I don't know how people do it.  I was probably most excited to go back to Texas just so I had someone to help me out with Gav!  Before my mom left on her vacation she told Kaitlyn she had to give me a break from Gav at least once a day. She did pretty good about it, but you could definitely tell she wasn't use to having a baby around all the time.

Gav's still a great little guy.  He hardly ever cries and when he cries its only if he is really hungry or tired or somethin that's a quick fix.  We have discovered that Jake can sure get him cryin.  Gav LOVES Jake but when Gav is talkin to Jake and Jake starts talkin back in his baby voice there is a certain way Jake does it that gets Gav's lip to quiver and he loses it!  It is so funny but its so sad to see how sad Gav gets cuz he's never like that!  I wish I had a pic of it.  It is so cute!

Gav's new love is his jumper.  He can play in that thing for hours!!  It was perfect timing with our move and everything.  We would put him in that while we cleaned up and finished packing/ unpack and he was fine forever!  It was great!

So our move went well :)  for those of you that didn't know we moved, we are now in Austin Texas.  We didn't tell many people cause it happened so fast and I was basically out of town the whole time we were packin up and gettin ready to go.  We just unpacked our last box yesterday and we are almost done putting everything away, thank goodness.  Its been a little rough with Gav just cause he would want to play and we didn't have anywhere to put him down and let him play around for a while. We love the area we are in and we've been to our new ward already and there are tons of people our age and lots of kids so we're really excited.

Gav's weighed in at 17.5 pounds the past month er so but I think our scale doesn't work with him cause he feels a lot heavier then that!  We've started leavin the carseat in the car and taking him out and carry him everywhere cause its so much lighter that way.  This is kind of funny but Gavo has gradated to his own room!  Thats right.  He's been sleeping in mom and dads room till now.  He's been in his own room now for about 2 weeks now.  I'm not going to lie, I had a hard time putting him in his own room.  I may have shed a tear or two... Gav has also learned how to roll over!! YAY FOR GAV!!!  While we were in Utah I didn't let Gav be on the floor much cuz I told Jake I wouldn't let him learn anything while we were gone.  Success! We were back for only a couple days and Gav rolled over for us!  He's also scooting around, but he only goes backwards right now.  Its funny when I put him on the floor and he scoots against something and can't go anywhere and he has no idea why.  Its funny.  He's lookin like he's going to learn how to crawl soon so maybe we'll have good news next month!

Five Months Old!!!

Time flies...

Can not believe my little boy is already 5 months old.  He is growing up so fast.  Earlier today I was going through pictures and video's I've taken of him and he has changed so much in the short time he's been with us.

Gav has learned a new trick this past month.  He discovered his toes and learned how to shove them in his mouth!  It is so funny how he folds himself in half and sucks on them as if it were his thumb.  He loves sucking his thumb too so I guess it shouldn't surprise me.  He's still very talkative, but I think it's only when he wants somthing....  While we were in Utah he didnt say much at all.  It was funny cause in Texas he talks all day.  He's turning into a real squeller.  Not a cry squeller but a I'm talking and trying out new sounds kind of squeller.  Its real girly and Jake's always tellin him not to do it.  I think its cute!  I also allow him to suck on his thumb cause its so cute and Jake always pulls his thumb out.  I guess he's going to have to get use to his parents always telling him two different things..  We're thinkin Gav is starting to teeth or something cause he always has to have something  in his mouth.  If its not toes or fingers he's got toys and his new favorite, blankets.  If he gets his hands on a blanket its soaked in minutes.  We constantly have to have a bib on him so he doesn't soak through his clothes cause of all the drool.  He's like a faucet!!

Gav's mobile!  Well, kind of...  Today we put Gav down on his blanket to do some tummy time and play with his toys and in minuets he was turned the other way!  It was so cool to see how he was able to turn in little scoots around the blanket! First time he's ever moved in any way!  He's getting so big!

We've had a busy month!  We got to got to Utah!  My younger brother Tanner got his mission call back in October and his time finally came to go to the MTC, and boy was he ready.  In the time Tanner was waiting to leave he became a pro at the rubik's cube, could sing any TV commercial for ya and I'm pretty sure he facebook stalked a bit as well as googled insignificant information about the dumbest things.  Like did you know if you plugged your nose and took a bite out of an onion and a bite out of an apple it would taste the exact same.  And an Onion doesn't have any flavor to it, just a strong oder.  Yeah, thats Tanner for ya.  While we were in Utah we got to take family pictures spent tons of time will both mine and Jakes family and Gavo also got his baby blessing!!  Only 4 1/2 months old!  Sadly as happy as that kid is all the time, he cried through the entire blessing!  I knew it was going to happen cause he doesn't like to lay down so I was going to give him his binki and forgot.  In the middle of the blessing I could tell Jake had shoved his finger in Gav's mouth to try and let him suck on it.  He wouldn't take it though.  The second the blessing was over he stopped crying, crazy kid. After church we went to my parents house and had a big party for Tanner.  There were a ton of people there.  I still can't believe my little brother is old enough to be on a mission.  Miss him a ton already.  We had to come back to Texas on Tuesday so the rest of the time in Utah we spent with Tanner.

For the past month Jakes office has been going back and forth on whether they should send him off to Austin or not.  While they were deciding, we had already started looking at houses and had already put an offer on a house.  Durring our "Option" period for the house, Jake told his boss he needed an answer that week so we could back out of the house contract if we needed to.  While we were in Utah Jake recieved a text from his boss saying we would be moving to Austin.  So, surprise!! We'll be moving to Austin the end of April.  Crazy how fast that came up on us and now it feels like there is so much to do!  So... we've been packing.  A lot!  Our house is basically all packed up, just the things we use regularly and the kitchen are left.  Gav and I are headed back to Utah to stay with Kaitlyn(my sister) while my parents go on vacation.  We're going to be there 3 1/2 weeks and 2 days after we get back from Utah we're headen to Austin.  Feels like that is coming up so fast!  This past weekend the 3 of us were able to go to Austin to find an apartment.  We saw around 25 apartments in the 3 days we were there.  I was so tired by the time we would get back to our hotel.  We found one! We love it and are so excited to move to Austin!!  And its only 10 min away from Jakes office!

pic's to come!!! headed to utah

Four months old!

Can't believe how time flies!  Feels like all i do is wait for something to come, vacation the weekend, and it comes and goes and he's already another month old!!  He's going to be a toddler before i know it!

Gav is so much fun to play with.  He's getting really good at grabbing things and loves to play with just about anything.  His favorite toys are his soft giraffe security blanket his neato butterfly and his little Einsteins music player that lights up.  But you could really give him anything and he's good with it.  He's turning into a big boy so fast!  He doesn't like layin down to much.  He loves to sit up like a big boy or even stand(not by himself).  He has a little play yard he stands in and he'll stand in it forever.  He doesn't play with the toys on it though, he just likes to look... weirdo.  He's getting really good at tummy time and lasts a bit longer then he ever has.   He still loves to watch TV so when we do tummy time he holds his head up high enough so he can watch.  He's starting to put his feet to one side like he's going to roll over but doesn't quite get it yet. Gavo is a very talkative little boy and always has something to say.  Its so much fun to have conversations with him cause they can last forever.  He makes the cutest facial expressions during the conversations too.  He'll be talkin away then all of a sudden he's upset then gets a giant gummy grin and then he's content again.  So fun!!!  Its fun to see when he figures out a new sound or a new way to talk and that's all he does for a while.  Just the last couple days he's figured out how to talk with his tongue.  He kinda just talks and as he goes sticks his tongue out every so often and changes the sounds.  Its pretty funny.  When Jake comes home from work Gav lights up and gives him a big grin.  One of my favorite things is when Jake holds Gav on his chest face to face and they just talk.  It's like Gav is tellin him all about his day and he gets so excited.  He sure loves his dad. I weighed my cute boy, the best I could with how wiggly he is, about a week ago and he was 16 lb. 6 oz.  Crazy how big he is.  He isn't a chubby little guy either he's tall.  Oh I almost forgot!  Gav's starting to grab at his toes now.  He loves sticking them as high as he can and just staring at them, especially if his toesies are sockless.  After he stares at them a while he starts trying to grab at them.  Now we're waiting to see when he'll start shovin them in his mouth with everything else.

For Valentines Day Gav and I had some projects to do!  Honestly, not a great idea on my part but it's cute!  While Jake was at work Gav and I made a little card for his daddy.  It says:  From the bottom of my heart to the tips of my toes I love you!  and it has Gavo's hand prints in the shape of a heart and his cute little toesies on it and its so cute!  I had to draw a heart around the hand prints so you could tell what it was.  Gav loved getting paint on his hands but the second I would stop he would clench his fists so tight I couldn't do anything with it!!  By the time I'd get his hands unclenched the paint would be drying up and we had to start all over again!  It took a while, but it was worth it!!  I gave Jacob a cute jar I cutsied up and on top of the jar it said "I love you because..." and wrote a bunch of reasons I loved him and stuck them in the jar.  I thought it was clever... Jacob brought me a bunch of flowers home the day before Valentines and they were beautiful.  Love him!!  On Valentines Day we gave Jacob his gifts and had dinner all together and just hung out.

The day after Valentines Gav and I went to start lookin for a house.  Not so easy with a little guy taggin along but we were successful.  Luckily our Realtor is super nice and patient.  We looked everywhere.  It was a very long day.  After we had seen all the houses I was able to narrow it down to only 3.  The next day Jake and I went to see the houses and had one we really liked but it was a bit over our budget so decided to keep looking.  A couple days passed and after many conversations we decided to put an offer in.  Counter offer after counter offer we are still not sure we are going to get the house.  We are currently waiting for them to get back to us about our last offer.  But we feel like we're going to get it.  Crossing our fingers!

Towards the end of the month we took off for a short vacation with our good friends the Fox's.  Our friends the Lee's had moved the end of January and there little girl was having her birthday in February so we couldn't miss it!  The fun part was we had kept it a secret from Brittney and she had no idea we were coming!  Luckily Greg is good at keeping secrets.  On Friday afternoon after the boys had gotten off work we met up with the Fox's and left for Odessa.  It was exciting when we arrived cause we knew Britt still had no idea!  I think it was around 9-9:30 when we got there so it was getting late.  Before we had left Sutton had sent Britt a text and told her she sent a package for Ever's birthday and it should come tonight so we knew she would think we were the UPS guy.  When we rang the bell Britt was the one to answer.  She was so surprised!!  She couldn't believe we had come and she had no idea, though, we found out later Greg had left her plenty of hints that something was going to happen.  But she didn't know!  When we all settled in we chatted for a bit and headed to bed.  The next day the boys left to go golfing while the girls set up for Ev's party.  It was such a cute little girl party.  Pink and Purple and butterflies everywhere.  She is one lucky little girl cause my kids parties are not going to be that cute.  I'm not going to lie...  I think my favorite part of the day was when we left the babies with the boys and went and had a girls night and went to a movie!  I don't know the last time I was able to go out with the girls.  We headed home the next day but we had spent the morning just hangin out and talkin.  Sure do miss the Lee's and it was a fun weekend to catch up again.  This last Monday we found out the Fox's are moving too!  I don't know what we're going to do with ourselves.  I sure hope we get that house now...

P.S.  For all you people in Utah.  Gav is having his blessing in our parents ward on Sunday March 24th.  Would love to see you there!!

Three Months

This crazy kid is growing up way to fast!  Just FYI, the two month post didn't have pic's cause I wasn't able to upload.  It now has pic's and they are cute!  You should take a gander.

Gav and I had a very eventful month.  For Christmas we had given our parents a pic of Gav and a card that said we were coming to visit!  I was so nervous to fly by myself with a baby.  Not only was I nervous about carrying everything myself but nobody ever wants to sit by a baby on a flight.  Gav's a little angel and slept the entire way there and back!  Best kid ever.   Funny thing was, our flight to Utah was pretty empty and when we were ready to leave everyone around us went and sat somewhere else so we had nobody near us and he didn't even make a peep!

While we were in Utah we stayed with Grammy and Grampy.  Gav met so many new people!!  It was so fun!!!  Our first day there mom and dad had to work and Kait was at school so we hung out with Tanner all day!  Gav loved Tanner!  The three of us went to the grocery store and while checking out the cashier asked tanner how old his baby was.  After looking at me for a second with a baffled look all he did was look at me and say its her baby.  Needless to say the rest of the time we were there was very awkward.  We went and visited Grammy at work and let her show off her cute grand baby, then went to Great Grandma Palmer's house.  There we met Auntie L and Aunt Janae Grandma Palmer and cousins Jack and Ella.  When Grammy got home from work we went and visited Auntie Arvonne in Kaysville.  That evening we went to Dada and Papa's house and visited with them, Katie, Shan, Mike and his cute little cousins.  It was a lot of fun to see everyone and catch up again.  The next day we went to lunch with everyone at Cafe Rio!  Miss that place.  And it was so good!  While we were at lunch it started snowing!!!!!  I haven't seen snow, real snow, in way to long!  Yeah it snowed in Texas but its just not the same.  We spent the rest of the night hangin out, playing games and quilting.  Kaits makin a quilt for her boy.  Not sure if it ever got done.  It was still snowing!  On Friday we spent the morning doing the same old same old.  It ended up being a snow day in Davis County so my mom and Kait didn't have work/school and got to stay home and play!  We got kinda stir crazy and decided to tough it and go shopping.  It was still snowing!  By this time it had been snowing non-stop and the snow was so deep!  Tanner Kait and my mothe had been shoveling every couple hours and there was still snow on the driveway!  Oh how I miss Utah winters.  That evening we had planned a little get together with the Jackman's and Robinson's to catch up and show off cute little Gav.  It was a big deal, cause it was still snowing!!  Yeah, still.  It was awesome.  We all got there safe and sound and everyone got home okay.  It was so much fun to see everyone again!  Saturday we hung around the house and didn't do much, just visited.  On Sunday we went and visited with everyone at Dada and Papa's house after church.  Crue was so cute with Gav!  Crue always wanted to hold Gav and wanted to play with him, and he has the sweetest little voice.  Tate was so fun!!  I couldn't believe how the two of them were playing with me and weren't shy or anything.  I loved it!!  Sad that Jake couldn't be there with us.  I know he misses all of them.  We got to go visit Grandma Dot too!  I was so happy and so excited to go see Grandma Dot.  I miss her so much and couldn't wait to have her and Gav meet.  Love her.  The rest of the week we spent with family and tried to spend as much time as we could with everyone before we had to leave.  It was hard to come back to Texas after having so much fun with everyone.

Didn't do much when we got home.  Just the usual.  Our good friends the Lee's we're getting ready to move so we had to spend as much time as we could with them before they left.  We sure miss them!  Jake and I had our Birthdays and didn't do a whole lot for them but it was fun.  Jake had to work on his birthday so we celebrated when he got home and we went out to dinner and gave him his presents.  Gav gave him the cutest gift!  I've uploaded a pic so you can see it.  Jake took the day off for my birthday, which was awesome, and helped out with Gav.  We went to the mall and went to dinner that night.  It was awesome to have help with Gav.  Best present ever!

So this month, around 10 weeks old, Gav started figuring out what his hands are.  It's the funniest thing to see him stare at his hands when he notices them.  He is starting to grab at things and it kinda makes me feel bad when he is trying so hard to grab something and he can't quite get it.   I'll have a toy in front of him and his arms stick straight out to the side and his hands go nuts grabbing!  He loves playing with his toys now.  His favorites are his rattle, a music toy with a caterpillar (He loves the smiley face on it and just smiles back), and his musical light up star stacker toy.  It is so fun to see his face light up when you play with him.  I've sat him in my lap with the star toy in front of us and started the music/lights.  He'll sit and smile and after a min wants to get it so bad he starts leaning towards it to get it.  He finally held a toy the other day!!!  I have to stick it in his hand and hold it there for a min and the second he would grab hold he would drop his hand and won't move, like its to heavy or something.  This time he grabbed onto his rattle and was shaking it and smiling and got it in his mouth!!  It was so cute!!  My little baby is getting so big!  He constantly wants to play with somthin now, and he always has to have somthin in his mouth.  I'm sure he's going to be a thumb sucker.  His hands are always in his mouth and I've caught him a couple times with just his thumb.  If its not his hands its whatever he can grab and shove in there.  He's a super smiley boy now.  Always so happy.  He started laughing, just little giggles here and there, and it's been so fun!  He loves bath time and the other night he was in the tub just giggling.  Cutest thing EVER!!  He's very talkative!  He'll be sittin on the couch just jabbering whether I'm sitting there talkin with him or he's just by himself he loves to talk!  He can go on forever too!  I've tried to get videos but he's still camera shy.  He loves his dad.  Every day when Jake gets home he stares at dad and gives him a big gummy grin.  He likes to watch football with his dad too.  He likes to watch anything really.  I turn the TV on just to have noise in the house and he watches way more than I do.  Probably not a good thing but its kinda funny.  He's still not to fond of tummy time.  The longest it usually lasts is 3 or 4 min if that.  Its a work in progress but he holds his head up really well so we're not worried about it.

Gav went to the doctor twice this month.  The first time was his 2 month checkup and he weighed in at 14 lb 7 oz.  That's my big boy :)  The second time we had to go get some shots done but they took his weight anyway.  Only 3 weeks later our big boy had gained over a pound!  He weighed in at 15 lb 12 oz.  Holy crap kid!  He's going to be giant!  But we love him.  Cutest little "big" guy ever :)

Two Months!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!

Time is going way to fast!  I can not believe my little baby is already two months old!!  But we are so happy to have every min with him, even when he does cry :)

We've had a busy month this month with Christmas and all.  We got out of the house a lot with all the shopping we did.  We had a fun night at the Fox's house having a white elephant gift party.  Its always fun to see what everyones version's of white elephant gifts are.  Our gifts are obviously the naughty embarrassing kind, but its funny when the nice normal gifters get those gifts.  We had lots of fun spending time with friends and Gav's makin lots of little friends too!  We also had Tyson, Julie, Abby and Luke over a couple weekends.  Julie and I attempted to make salt dough ornaments one day and I'd say I need more practice... Julie's turned out though!  I didn't care, one was Gav's foot and the other his hand and they are cute so we're keeping them!!!  We had a couple other nights we hung out with some friends.  Gav's first church day was on Christmas Sunday and he got to wear his cute tux outfit with his studly Sunday shoes.  I know I have a little boy, so is it wrong I like to play dress up with him?  I'm fine with it if it is, and Jake's going to have to deal with it :)  On Christmas Eve our very good friends the Lees had us and the Foxes over for dinner and games.  The Lees are moving in a couple weeks and Jake and I are real sad, so it was nice to be able to spend the holidays with them before they go.  It also means Gav's girlfriend Ever is moving away and he's been all torn up about it, but we're helping him through it.  We'll visit 'em :)  On Christmas Day I do believe I was the most excited.  I don't know how Jake felt about that.  We got a little video of presents and Santa ate the cookies and drank the milk and holy cow Gav was spoiled with presents.  Who knew a two month old could clean up like that!  Jake and I would take turns opening Gavin's presents and it seemed like they just kept coming.  This was our first Christmas as our little family and it was really nice to spend time together as a family.  We missed our family back in Utah though.  We didn't do much after we opened presents.  We had our breakfast scones and just hung out for the rest of the day.  IT SNOWED!!  Yeah, in Texas. Crazy.  That afternoon we went over to the Au's house for dinner  and a couple other families from the ward who stayed for Christmas were there as well.  That was about it, a very relaxed Christmas.  We didn't do much for New Years either.  Jake had moved our TV from our room into the living room next to the other TV and we had football playing on one and switched off playing Modern Warfare on the other.  That's our version of partying.  And of course we had lots of food!  Once midnight struck we went straight to bed, and Gav slept till 10!  Well, getting up 2 other times to feed, but that's awesome!!  There ya have it, our month in a nutshell.  Oh my gosh I almost forgot!!!!!  We took Gav to go see Santa at the mall!  It was the cutest thing!  And I know what your thinking...  Why would you take a 6 week old to see Santa?  You take a look at the pictures and that's why!  Couldn't believe how cute he looked with Santa in his little first Christmas outfit.  Love it!

Little Gav is so much fun to play with now! He is so smiley and loves to talk. First thing we do in the morning is stare at each other and just jabber for 45 min to an hour every day. I love it!! And its the best feeling when you can look over at him and he gives you a big gummy grin. He makes us so happy.  Some of his new favorite things:  He loves to be naked!  Its the funniest thing.  If he ever starts getting fussy we can usually get him naked and he starts smiling.  He starts smiling when we start getting him naked, he doesn't even have to be naked!!  Crazy kid.  He loves looking around.  He can not hold still for to long before he wants to be turned to look at the other side of the room.  He especially likes lights and he loves the TV.  When we had the Christmas tree up we would turn the lights on and he would stare at that thing all day.  He's also starting to lift his head up while laying down or in his car seat.  He can't get enough of all the new sights.  Like I said, he loves talking.  I have so many video's of him going on and on, it's so cute!  He loves his hands.  He sucks on his hands all the time and he is so slobbery!  When he's not sucking on his hands he's learned how to blow bubbles.  So funny and so yucky.  I'm constantly wiping that kids face.  He was being fussy one day so Jake started to play with his legs.  We found out that he loves to run with his legs.  Every time you grab his legs he lets them loose so you can play with them.  Basically he's a happy kid and likes to play.  He sleeps really well at night only getting up once or twice a night.

His two month appointment is tomorrow.  We are both excited and nervous to go.  We like to see how big he has gotten, but he has to get his shots.  I am so scared so I am making Jake come home from work to go with me.  I hope I don't cry too much!

So...I've been trying to upload photo's and my laptop is not allowing...  I'll have to try again later cuz we're headed to Utah!!! But I will get them on as soon as I can.  Oh and baby Gav weighed in at a wopping 14.7 pounds!!
