7 months old!

Crazy kid is starting to get into everything!  I know its only going to get crazier and crazier so I'm going to have to start getting use to it.  Gav is rolling like crazy and scooting everywhere!  Still only going backwards but he figures out how to get things still.  I don't get it.  He actually got up on all 4's the other day and when I saw him I grabbed my camera to take a pic and when I went to take the picture he thought it was funny and fell on his tummy and gave me a giant grin and started giggling. I was so bummed I didn't get the picture, but he's still cute!

I tried weighing Gav again but I am not trusting my scale anymore so I'll have to wait till we take him to the doctor.  His favorite toys are the chains, his little Einsteins music player, cups and spoons.  He loves to snuggle with blankies and we love to snuggle with him.  He's a pretty good sleeper now.  He was waking up around 230 every night then again at 430.  One night he woke up around 230 and he was just kinda moaning.  He did that for probably 10 min then fell back asleep.  Since then he's only been waking up around 430 maybe 530 and the last couple days not till 7ish.  He goes to bed around 9 so its not bad at all.

This past month Jake and I celebrated our 3 year anniversary. We have gone on a little weekend trip every anniversary so this year we were able to go to San Antonio.  Before we moved from Dallas I was always asking Jake to go to the Zoo with me but he never would.  So he surprised me and took Gav and I to the zoo in San Antonio.  It was so hot but it was fun.  I was really worried about taking Gav out in the heat for so long so we stocked up on a couple things.  We got his a sippy cup so we could have some water for him and got a cute hat for him and caked him with sunscreen.  We took one of those fans with a squirt bottle attached too.  He wasn't a fan of getting squirted in the face but he sure liked the fan.  He hadn't ever used a sippy cup before so I was a little worried he wouldn't use it but I think he was hot enough he dank quite a bit of it.  I think the zoo was more for me though cause Gav didn't show interest at all, but it was fun to go as a family.  Luckily our hotel was downtown and we were only a block away from the Alamo.  It was really cool cause Jake and I had watched the movie only the week before and we were able to go see where it all took place.  There is also a place downtown called the river walk.  The river walk is so awesome!  There is a river that runs right through the city and so they build all around it and it is so beautiful.  We went and walked around a bit and ate at Hard Rock cafĂ©.  We got to sit on a balcony and look over the river, it was really fun!  That night they had a parade to honor the troops on the river!  We got to stand on a bridge and see all the boat floats go through.  There were a lot of people and it was still really hot but it was a really cool thing to see. We got to go back the next day and take a river tour of the river walk and it was really neat.  So beautiful.  If your ever in San Antonio, go to the river walk!

So this past months we've been introducing Gavin to new foods.  For the first little while we would feed him rice cereal, but he only ate that for a couple days then he didn't want to have anything to do with it.  It got frustrating cause he would act hungry but he wouldn't eat anything.  We were giving him some puree foods and he would eat them then other times would refuse.  We stopped trying anything for a couple days to give it a rest and then we made the mistake of giving him the yummy stuff.  We went for ice cream one night and gave him a bite and his eyes got wide and he wanted more.  So we tried the puree again and he must have thought it was the ice cream again cause his mouth was wide open.  When he took a bite he made a bad face and wouldn't take another bite.  So we started feeding him some pieces of bread rice avocado and he loves banana!  I tried the banana puree and he wouldn't eat it so I cut up some banana and he loved it!!  We're still workin on the puree but he is quite the eater.

           such a messy boy!

Gav is quite the swimmer, which makes Jake really happy.  I'm not a fan but I will still go.  We go swimming probably 3 or 4 times a week and Gav loves to watch everyone splashing and playing around.  We bought him a floaty and he gets so relaxed in it.  He just lays back and floats around with a toy stuck in his mouth to chew on. The other day we were swimming and two boys came over and started talking to us and asking his name and stuff.  They had squirting toys and kept squirting Gavin making him cry then asking if he liked it or not.  Poor kid is already getting picked on and he's only a baby.  It was really starting to bug me and we kept saying he didn't like it.  After a couple times Jake finally told them to just leave him alone and they left. Dumb kids

We even tried swimming in the tub...

This past month Jake has had a couple busy days and wasn't able to find anyone to help him out so of course I became the helper.  I didn't mind, we just had to find a babysitter and having just moved know no one at all.  I found someone in our ward that was more then willing to help us out and I went to help Jake.  I have a whole new respect for Jake and what he does.  At first I was only suppose to go and help pack.  Not bad right?  It was a little frustrating since the people we were packing up didn't have a clue what we were suppose to pack or do with anything.  Turns out I went the next day with Jake to move them out.  I haven't hurt so bad in so long.  We still didn't finish packing so we go there the next day around 11 packed and got everything all ready and taken apart (we couldn't take anything out of the building till 5) then once 5 hit we were taking stuff out of there as fast as we could.  I didn't get home till 8 and boy was I exhausted.  I also hadn't sad down the whole day and after driving home walked all funny once I got out of the car.  I felt like I couldn't move without hurting my whole body.  I don't know how Jake does it but I sure do love him for doing it.  Gav and I went with him again that Saturday to clean up a job they had just done.  He said quick vacuuming and we'll be done.  So of coarse I was thinking an hour at most.  Nope we were there for about 4 hours and this place was disgusting!  Rat dropping, giant dead spiders.  Dead doesn't matter people, its still a spider!!  I've had nightmares of these spiders ever since! And there was crap all over the floor so we had to clean that up before we could even vacuum.  Needless to say, moving is hard. Especially when its not your own move.

Probably the best part about helping Jacob with the move is we got to explore Austin a bit more and it is beautiful!!  The area that this company we moved was in an amazing location.  We hadn't seen anything even close to this anywhere in Texas.  There are mountains!  Crazy to call them that but they are definitely the closest "mountains" around.  And they are so pretty.  It's in an area close to a lake and the Colorado river runs through it.  The mountains are just covered in trees and its just green everywhere.  Let me tell you.  Dallas was nothing like this.  So beautiful.  We're excited to go play in the creeks and the river this summer.  Till next time!

Gav at 7 months, such a happy boy!
